When you get a recipe for some fantastic gelato for the birthday of someone who has just turned eighteen, the decision is usually made to go and buy some of the latest and greatest type of dessert. Geezer is a good start for this kind of occasion, but what to do about the cake? Having already taken care of the sweet stuff, there's no time to faff about with the hideous results.

After many a gulp, the cake always seems to taste as though it has gone sour as soon as it's taken off the oven. With no reason to stop and wonder why it isn't tasting as though it should, or have the confidence to say it wasn't, we tend to get off to the next course of action, which is to take it back to the supermarket and get another one. And then the surprise that the idea of trying to make it the way we wanted without paying the prices we were paying in the shop, only to find out we are paying a fortune on an inferior product, can really frustrate us. After a little reflection, we decide we would like to see what else we could do.

Now it's time to get hold of the latest and greatest of the new series of the Pros and Cons Gelato Maker. All the latest news from Japan, having had a chance to try out the new prototypes, have inspired us to try to give them a try. We don't want to spend all our time working with the machine and the icing, but we do want to make sure that the flavor is perfect as we say goodbye to the new machine.

Well, it turns out to be a fairly simple procedure. The pros and cons gelato maker aren't an entirely new machine - we had used the first generation at work, and they're still available for purchase, but we did have the advantage of trying the new ones and seeing them in action. We bought ours from the same website that sells them.

The Pros and Cons Gelato Maker look much the same as the first generation of the machine, although there is some very slight improvement in design. It's pretty plain in fact, which was one of the first things we noticed when we saw the new ones at work. There are lots of changes to the way it uses the ingredients, and some refinements and improvements in the blade and that's about it.

There are some real pros and cons of this new gelato maker, not least of which is that it does get pretty hot. It's not quite as hot as the old models, but it's still a lot more than the average home maker had managed to achieve in the past. This is something that should be taken into account when you are preparing to use it, although we didn't find it to be a problem. There was always a huge hole in the middle of the icing which melted, making the finished product pretty far from being like a traditional one.

Another point to take into account is that the Pros and Cons Gelato Maker will go flat when it reaches 45 degrees. If you need to go much higher, then you'll have to reduce the settings on the machine.

Whilst it's true that the gourmet gelato that you have at your home today is not something you'll be able to compare to at work, it doesn't mean that it won't be hard to do. The pros and cons gelato maker may not be the perfect home appliance, but it is at least worth trying out, if only to see how it goes.
